Ls2 402 w/ 799 heads
Randy
I've thought about going that route on a 402/416 for a long while. With a 240 duration cam, the heads have done 550rwhp. With more duration... maybe another 20rwhp? Either way, I think it would still be down like 25rwhp to the TFS245s with the same cam at that level, but for the cost... it would be a good head.
They do great work! I am on my second set of heads from them.

Take these with a grain of sand. But this is the flow chart on them. Compared to TFS 235s or TEA Stage 2s, you can see the VJ def helps up top. The midlift is restricted by the 243/799 intake port shape. So you end up with similar midlift numbers to a TFS 215 or TEA Stage 2 head but the higher lifts are much closer to TFS 235s. But being down 25-30cfm in the midlift means probably 25-30HP loss (if across the lift range). But since it's not (although still in the meat of the valve opening), you might only be down 10-15HP. And with more duration or more lift, you might get some of that back.
So with a higher lift hydraulic cam or a LLR, I think these would be capable heads. 2.08/1.60" valves... so good on a 408 or 416.
The problem is the 225 intake port isn't big enough to feed a 416 effectively at 7500. But for a street car, it's a good alternative. I was quoted to upgrade mine. And it was cheaper than a Stage 1. This would probably cost about the same as a Stage 2 if ordered outright. And that's cheaper than TFS 235s or whatever. If you have 799s or 243s, it's pretty damn cost effective.
I'd love to see someone run it. I keep thinking an EPS 244/256 114 cam, 12.0:1 CR, and the Stage 3s on a 416 with my FAST 102 and Kooks 1-7/8" headers would be a strong street car. 540/500 through locked A4?
