Possible Engine Rebuild Need Advice!!! So Gents,
I'm totally freaking out, I think my motor needs a rebuild. Some backround info, I put an aftermarket cam in a month ago with all the supporting mods such as oil pump, trunnions, pushrods, new lifters, dual valve springs, timing chain, and 3 bolt timing gear. So ran the car hard for 700 miles and beat a few Scat Packs because i had to. I decided to change the oil today after only 700 miles because I wanted to do a quick check up. I run Mobile 1 Synthetic, and I drained the oil and it had streaks in it
The magnetic oil plug had a grayish sludge on it. I am literally about to cry, my baby might be broken. I used assembly lube on the cam when i installed it and soaked the lifters in oil also before installing. I attached a few pictures of the oil and what i wiped off the drain plug. Please any advice will help, I'm pretty mechanically inclined so not sure if I should attempt a rebuild, or at least just pull the motor and take it to a builder. Any good builders in Southeast Michigan, Detroit Metro area?

What you're seeing could easily be all the new parts breaking in. Go ahead and run it with new oil, change it again after 500 more miles, and see what it looks like. Keep your ear tuned to any new noises, and just drive fairly normally. Don't go too nuts. lol

Ur fine Brah. Just keep driving it. I took my ls1 to a very popular ls shop in deleware, also a premium ls1tech sponsor, to have my valve seals replaced. They tried telling me that i they heard a funny noise from my car and asked me if i wanted them to pull pan and cut open filter. I said yea please. They tell me they found bearing material in the filter and visually inspected with the pan off and said my motor was shot. But wait, they tell me this after they do the seals. Haha go figure. I believed them and got car towed home. After it sitting for a few weeks i start it up and it sounds the same as usual. Ive since then put 2000 miles on my "engine with bearing material in oil". So ive been in ur boat. Dont stress.
