Default LS2 + Boost, compression ratio?

I have 2 LS2s that were pulled out of 2006 GTOs. I am putting in 2 1950 chevy pickups. The plan is to purchase the TrickFlow top end kit for the LS2. It shows that I'll be around 550hp. Also looking at a fast lsx 92mm intake. Stock 90mm throttle body and a magnuson tsv2300 supper charger. Only looking to run about 7-8 lbs of boost.

My question is this. I want to only run pump gas. 91-93 octane. Should I be changing my pistons to lower my compression? Goal is about 700hp+-.

I'm pretty set on these parts. Both of these trucks are identical trucks. Looking to get them into Sema possibly. I do not want to run meth or super high octane. What i do not know is if it will be completely necessary to change out the pistons to lower the compression.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

I have the Edlebrock kit on my LS3 ( TSV 2300) With stock heads, cam, long tube Amer ican Racing Headers, Corsa Exhaust, Mike Norris tune it makes 540 to the ground. You are in the ball park. Mine runs 7-8 lbs boost and it has been in service over 40k miles with no issues. I run 93 octane

Lots of GTO guys run that much boost on stock short block LS2s. Unless you plan to spin the blower a lot harder you should be ok as long as the tune is done properly. I run that much with my smaller overdriven mp112 that is not nearly as efficient as a TVS and use 91 octane since that is all I have available. If you have 93 available you can keep the higher compression for better off boost throttle response, mileage and efficiency plus you can run a bit more timing. I am lowering mine to 10 to 1 with my new forged short block but I will be running 12 lbs of boost.

I definitely want the ability to turn up boost to 12-13lbs. I understand a lot of guys are running 7 lbs on stock GTOs but what kind hp are they seeing. My goal is no less than 650 to the rear wheel. There is always a budget but this is definitely not a budget/ cheap build. I want to make sure I do this correct.

If you want 650RWDHP, I'd recommend setting the ring gap accordingly.

PD blowers like the higher compression---to a limit. Mine is 10.8 at 11#. Forged, no problems.
