Default Morel 6504 preload
Seems nobody knows on the CF, anyone know Morels spec for preload on the drop in 6504 LS lifters?

I found a generic instruction sheet, but not part number specific

.045 to .060. Probably off the same sheet.

.045-.050 if they are similar to the 5315s with Aluminum block and heads.

.030-.035 iron block and aluminum heads.

From what I've seen.

Looks as though it won't be easy. With my push rod checker I get about a little over 17-1/2 turns to a little less then 18 turns from valve to valve. If I go with a 7.750 pushrod I'll have as much as .065-.070" preload as if I go with the 7.725 I'll have as low as .035-.040"

Theres no middle ground without going custom. Is it better to have more then less pre-load?

Stock LS7 heads that were rebuilt and ported by Texas Speed. I think they milled .035" and there is a stage 2 cam in it. Not sure if that cam has a smaller base circle then stock

The lifters has between .139 and .141" of travel. On an LS engine depending block and head material you want between .040 to .060" of pre-load. An all aluminum engine will be at the .060" side of things.
