Default Read a Comparison of Piston rings. Gen 5 LT1 rings included.

So the basic comparison was between a set of Gen 1 sbc rings VS a Lsx rings package. This is in this months Hot Rod mag. didn't get it but you know. So the Lsx ring package made if I'm not mistaken like close to 10 more Hp & Ft Lbs of Tq. The newer style LT1 ring package is even thinner so More HP & TQ. Less friction add a good vac. system. Who needs dry-sump. LMAO!

I wonder How much a ring package like this would be to run on a LS piston. The heck with that, I'd bet you could run a DI Gen5 LT piston in a LS. Then get a set of trick, Total seal gap-less rings. That's what we Call: Having GAME. Race technology trickling down to the everyday car. If I ever get another set of pistons I'm looking into this. It's a standard ring size now.

Gen1 sbc
5/64 5/64 3/16

Lsx based rings
1.5mm 1.5mm 3.0mm

Gen 5 LT1
Ring Sizes:1.0mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm File Fit

I had my pistons cut for 1.0/.0/2.0mm rings in my 6.0L iron block. I think it's Total Seal that has a .9/.9/2.0mm ring pack available now too but IIRC, 4.060" was the biggest bore size.

Yea Je only sales them 1.2/1.5/3.0 that's even on the Newer Gen 5's also. Most all Wiseco standard pistons come in as: 1.2mm, 1.2mm, 3.0mm Gen 5's included. Mahle runs the normal Gen 5 rings on their Gen 5 pistons. Wanted to call JE it's too early and I'm tired. I'd say, if you ask it would be a cu$tom order for the newer style ring package on a Ls piston.

Nope my guy @ JE said it's only $40 bucks extra or $5 each piston. That's great for us more options for cheap HP!
