Question on milling 243 heads, How much Milling is equal to a cc?
Just a quick question about milling. When I had my heads milled by TSP-PRC, I told them to mill them to 63cc. Now stock being 64.45cc, so 1.45cc was milled. Does anyone know exactly how many thousandths was milled? I have been told its 0.006" per cc, 0.007" per cc, 0.0065" per cc, and 0.0068" per cc. I was by a local engine builder, that 63cc for 243 heads would mean 0.010" was milled, or 0.00689" per cc. Just trying to calculate some things.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You most likely won't be able to determine "exactly" because of the shape of the combustion chamber and the inability of most burettes to measure chamber volume that precisely. I've seen the .006" per 1cc to be pretty good though. Most recently, my L92 heads were milled .030" by a local shop and I saw the volume reduced by 5cc.
