Default Question on what's needed for DOD delete on 10' Silverado

I'm looking to order a DOD delete kit from TSP for my buddies truck. It's a 2010 WT 1500 with a 5.3. There's quite a few different options to choose from with the kit. I haven't tore the engine down yet, so I can't tell if it has VVT or not. Anyway to tell without having the front of the engine apart? Also what valley cover do I need to order it with? L92 cover or LS3 cover? And will I need the 3 bolt conversion? And finally, the GM 5.3 LM7 cam is $70 more than the LS9 cam. Any reason not to go with the LS9? Will the LS9 work with stock valve springs? And how would it run without being tuned for it?

If I'm not mistaken the 2010 5.3 uses a cam very close to the LQ9, which is a bit bigger than the LM7. You might try it, or use the LS2 cam which is 204/211, .525/.525, 116 LSA. It would still idle very smooth and add power from about 3000 up, with VERY little decrease under that.
