Default Finally decided on ordering a set of Trickflow 255s. Valve spring question

I finally ordered a set of the Trickflow 255s for my build and wondered of the Btr .660 valve spring kit would work in them. I had a set left over from doing a cam swap last year and they have a higher lift rating than both spring options that are offered with the Trickflows. I wondered which would be the better ones to use when everything is put together

The springs should work, but you may need different seals and locators for the bronze guides in the TFS heads.

I'm ordering them from Tick but they come with the .650 springs. What's the difference in the Tea valves?

What's 'wrong' with the springs that came with the Trick Flow Heads? Or....did you get bare heads?

Nothing wrong with them. Just wondered which ones would be better to use since I already have a set of the Btr. 660s

If you got the heads with the .650" springs.....run them. They're excellent springs for hydraulic cams. I like to keep valve lift at least .025" below the rated capacity of the springs (personal preference)....so if your valve lift is .625" or less, you are good to go.

I also consider springs a wear item, and I like to swap out springs every 15K to 30K....depending on application and how I use the car. So.....in a couple of years or so, you can swap in the BTR springs.

But for God's sake Andy, whatever you do......stop overthinking things.

The PAC springs on those TF heads, which I believe are the same as the springs on AFR's LS3 heads, are among the best you're gonna come across for your application.

Best of luck!

KW
