They are just 6.0/6.2 truck stock gaskets . 051" I wanna say.....the pistons are cheap dnr pistons from ebay along with the gaskets kit.....ive had good luck with them on my 5.3 builds so I figured I'd give them a try this time around the 6.0....I put this one together for about 2k that's including the initial $800 purchase of the 225k l96....I'm curious to see how well it holds up....if it's anything like the 5.3 I just did with flat tops and same cam..then I'd be happy !!!!!

No its summit racings version with .525" lift...I don't wanna worry about ptv issues....especially with these flat tops. It's off by 1 degree at 225/236-.525/.525- on a 110....similar to the jegs version that I put in my 5.3...alot cheaper than the gm piece... at only $280 either summit or jegs

I have not had the chance of running it yet. Moving across the country put a delay in my project. I am hoping to get everything up and running by late summer early fall. The engine is going in my 65 Cutlass and I am using a 4l80 with a 3200 stall.

Are you guys have things re-balanced? Or just slapping them in?

Thanks.

Yea moving can be a bitch!!!!!!!....well hopefully you and your family are getting settled in and unpacked. .....I got mystery boxes in my garage that I haven't unpacked yet 2 yrs later....it will be like Christmas again once I get out there and finish unpacking the rest.....that's what happens when you move into a 2200sq ft home from 4000sq ft ,you get alot of **** your wife thought she wanted, but yet have no space to store it.....oh well....across the country you say....what state is home now?

. Stampede. ...what is a balance? Lol...no, all the dnr pistons I've used I never balanced the crank to...I put dnr 4.8 flat tops in a lm7 with no problems, put the ls2 dnr flat tops in my lq4, and l96, both also with no issues, so basically I raised the compression and ditched the dished pistons in those motors and yea I noticed a hellov difference in off the line power. ...what we're you planning on building? 4.8/5.3/6.0/6.2

I know what you mean dawg in regards to all the stuff the wife thinks she needs but doesn’t ever use or even know is there. Lol. Florida is home now. It’s a lot cheaper then Cali.

In regards to rebalancing my setup, I did not. I bought the Mahle OEM replacement flat top pistons and they weight about the same as the stock OEM dish pistons. WS6Store sells piston sets for our engines that also do not require a rebalance. I would assume if you are replacing stock pistons with forge pistons then a rebalance would be necessary, but don’t quote me on that. I would ask Chevelle70, KCS or WS6Store, they will know.
