Default 327 the hard way

ive been thinking of building an engine for a project car ive had sitting around. its a 2001 bmw 330ci. I would use a ls2 block, a 4.8l crank and rods, with some custom pistons. no spray or boost, but will be on e85, so about 13:1 comp. my question is, how good are the gen 4 4.8 rods since nobody makes a fordged rod in that size? I would put arp bolts in them and have it all balanced. the car is gutted, and should weigh less than 3000lbs when im done with it, so I don't need a insane amount of torque. just looking for a fun to drive street hotrod, will have a t56, the steepest gears I can get, and likely a llsr cam so I can take it to 8g. im sure somebody has done this before, if so, how do you like it?

I’d stick with the Stock crank. Put some GMPP ls3 heads on it, LLSR Cam and a sniper intake and it’ll hit 8000 no problem
