327 the hard way ive been thinking of building an engine for a project car ive had sitting around. its a 2001 bmw 330ci. I would use a ls2 block, a 4.8l crank and rods, with some custom pistons. no spray or boost, but will be on e85, so about 13:1 comp. my question is, how good are the gen 4 4.8 rods since nobody makes a fordged rod in that size? I would put arp bolts in them and have it all balanced. the car is gutted, and should weigh less than 3000lbs when im done with it, so I don't need a insane amount of torque. just looking for a fun to drive street hotrod, will have a t56, the steepest gears I can get, and likely a llsr cam so I can take it to 8g. im sure somebody has done this before, if so, how do you like it?
