Default Is this normal?

The bearings don't meet up evenly? I am running Lunati rods and 807xpnc bearings.

No, that is NOT normal. You have something switched around.

There was 2 packages of 8 and I am wondering if they were different. They were not marked anything different but maybe they were?

There should be eight pair that will fit the rods as they should. Do a little more mixing and matching until they fit correctly. You might have either two upper or two cap bearings in the pic.

Look on the back of the bearing. There with the stamping, you will see a “L” and a “U”, meaning upper and lower. You’ve likely got something doubled up.

How about the rod chamfer, does that go towards crankshaft or towards another rod?

Chamfer goes toward crank, placing larger rod cheeks toward each other for more surface area to rub against inwardly. Not a big deal with a Oem LS crank, since the crank throws don’t have a radius. That’s just how I do it.
