I bet that hood turns heads.

I am becoming more convinced that larger ports with a good valve job and properly cammed are not detrimental.

I've been in this car before. It was NOT lazy when it was bolt ons. Torque is very similar, just shifted to the right a little. I bet it feels absolutely incredible now.

How much low end tq do you think you need to cruise around in a 3000 lb car

😂🤣. That car is far from lazy on the low end. I don’t think we watched the same video.

4.10 rear gears goes a long ways to curing "laziness".
What transmission 1st gear ratio is in this setup ?

Don't bother with it every other thread or post is about a factory ls3 head and lazy ports and go get a afr, mast, tfs head they'll give you space shuttle tq and thrust.

Hammer Laser & i already discussed a solid roller was told maybe later down the line......no mercy.
Oh yeah tsp used Ls7 heads cause Ls3 heads have a worse valve drop than ls7 heads so they could get more compression and valve lift with factory pistons....learned this with Ls3 *solid* dome top pistons & Ls7 heads.

thats my biggest issue with Stock ls3 castings. PTV issues. With the mast ls3’s I have piles of clearance. Heads are shaved .055, .040 gasket, .705 lift and still piles of room

Hell i had to find out everything on the subject as there are no off the self +10 cc dome tops for a Ls7 head and smaller bore. They do for a Ls3 head.
Make my own off the shelf *vs buying custom pistons. As is with milled heads is 15.4 compression we still have to cut for p to v clearances and desired compression (major key solid dome). With 70cc ls3 heads compression would be 14.8 if i'm not mistaken...i'm.past flat tops, works out well with either head 700 or 800 lift...wink, wink.

2.66 First gear. This a very bare 1LT base car. It had forged wheels and NPP exhaust (which is still being used)

Maybe I missed it. Did you run both intakes on the dyno?

That’s impressive. I first started looking at the X1 after I saw one on Craigslist for cheap. Looked like a scam so I passed, but I’ve had it on my wish list since then. Glad you posted.

Got it !!!!
Thought maybe you also moved to a MZ6 2.97 1st gear too, along with those 4.10's.

I've moved to the 3.90 rear gear and 2.29 1st gear on my new setup...which brings me right back to the same 1st gear multiplication as a stock C6 Z06 2.66/3.42 combo LOL

I use a 26X9.5X16 hoosier QTP at the track and a NT05R 305/35/19 for street duty. The 26" tire is more like a 4.30 gear

What's the reasoning behind that? Are you boosted? That would make the 2nd very short unless it was changed.

Very good question
I'm running the TR6060 ZR1 spec transmission with the MH3 gear set. Originally, I was going to run some spray on my original build so I wanted the stronger 1st gear for torque capacity. I'm now a big stroker N/A which we are also expecting big torque numbers.

Forgive me for doing a copy and paste from my other threads on my choice.... that thread is located here https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...badaz06-3.html

It all depends what what you goal or end game is.....
3.90's ended up being the better compromise for my setup, given I run 1/4, 1/2 and 1 mile competitions, as well and HPDE. I install shorter or taller diameter tires to adjust the final drive accordingly, based on the events I'm running.
I would post the calculator I used to look at the results that helped me make my decision but the site is no longer available

This one looks to be good as well..... http://www.gtsparkplugs.com/GearCalc.html

Here's two comparisons I did, first is 3.90 vs 4.10 with a 25.5" 315/35/17 Hoosier Drag radial....... MH3 tansmission, 7400 RPM shift

Same setup, but a move up to 27" drag tire.....

And this is with my factory street tire...335/25/20
