So what about a L92, too much?
Local guy does drop outs with a cleaned harness, transmission, ecu, pedal, etc..
He does a "light" rebuild and uses motors with 100 to 160 K miles..
So I was originally going to look for a all AL 5.3, (Its a weight/inertia thing I promise it matters to me for my setup)
But he happens to have a L92 out of a Escalade with the 6L80E (Which I want.. Yes I get not every-bodies cup o tea.. )
My question is,, having never dealt with a street/stock version of the LS motors, on the L92 what would
you recommend for things that you'd ditch or keep, I am planning on keeping it street legal including Emissions for OR..
I'm assuming this should be a very smooth motor with the caddy(ish) tune on it..
Not sure how the rig will hold up to the HP..
terrible problem .. Just terrible..
One question is the VVT,, really struggling trying to decide if I want It.. In my other rigs its very nice for low end..
And at this point I'm thinking the stock HP of the L92,, is a better deal than trying to pump a 5.3 up to match.
So no "need" to remove it if I understand its weaknesses.. This bit is more about Mileage than anything..
I use my jeep for travel and explorational 4 wheeling, I occasionally act as a Sweep vehicle for Rally as well.
I don't expect to need to rev it too hard to move me down the road.. Since I've lived with a 4 cylinder in it for years.
Any thoughts welcome,, Thanks in advance.
Must be the exhaust and all the interior padding the caddy gets,, the engine in the couple I've driven seemed much tamer than the trucks or the Tahoe.. So the VVT "should" work with any cam that has the oil holes in it.. the thing is 400 or so HP should really be plenty for a Jeep, I'm not doing king of the hammers

Not sure yet but I think the guy that sells the engines, will cam swap for pretty reasonable price.,. have to ask him..
If you don't want VVT, the change only involves the cam, cam sprocket, front cover and sensor. And of course a different tune
