Im glad i went with Mast Ls7 heads on my 427ci build. My builder knew Cary for years, he was with Cartek(Mike) way back when. He swore by them. Gave me alil history on Horus Mast n Cary... I was reluctant,$$$... but Yolo, all in!

Know both your builders shop and Cary. Cartek did the fox body LS swap and a 9 sec et...back in the day was a series in popular hot rodding.
Talked to both before.

The RHS block is pretty decent, but a bit overkill. You might want to consider having your OEM LS7 block dry sleeved by RED or TSP and building something in the 440 to 454ci range.

I've always wanted to try the RHS LS7 heads and have heard a lot of positive things about them. Brodix, AFR/MMS, TFS, etc all make decent heads, it just depends on your end goals.

Or if overkill is not enough and you want over-overkill, check out concept performance blocks.

KCS who told you this......Several Top porters and avg guys have had problems with RHS head castings. They lost the original guys who did the castings. Ask Chris Frank or Dennis Wheat, Dennis broke it down when the heads went to trash. Maybe they've got someone new ....if not pass. They were cracking all over the place without any FI application's used. Know of 4 on YB. Even made a RHS head thread on YB.

I was going to ask the same? Everthing I've heard these things crack under any minimal stress. Definitely looked into RHS when I was looking for heads. The ports and flow information was great but castings sucked. Even the first blocks had major cracking issues.

I haven't seen much on them lately, but there were some guys making good power with them several years ago. Some posted their results online and some didn't. I do remember Chris Frank speaking highly of their LS7 heads on YB too.

Yeah that was when they 1st hit the market. Then RHS was sold to Comp and all went the crapper. Casting foundry switched and then the problems began. Chris couldn't get a set after the switch and casting flaws were seen. Purps 440 heads cracked in the exhaust if I'm not mistaking, another one cracked near the head bolts. Talked to Dennis when I did that post on YB, contacted him thru FB and he told me to call him and this is where I got the tea...or information. Chris knows as well. But Chris F series heads have features of the RHS. Longer valves = higher runner placement generally, valves run 5.8 to 5.9 length damn near All Pro c5r heads length @ 5.9 to 6 inches.

Eric said his winning 370 was a slightly bored 5.3 with a stroker, *✓°> heads flowed 415cfm on a 3.900 test bore with a Holley Hi ram intake. Liberty 11 degree Ls3 heads. 740ish with 12.1 compression and max cam lift of .775

Yeah you read it correctly 415 cfm with a 3.900 bore tested.
