Default Compstar CCW Crank

I'm looking at the Dart CCW crank and Compstar's CCW crank.

The Dart seems to be doing very well, but it's priced quite a bit more than the Compstar.

I'm wondering if anyone has any real-world data or usage with the Compstar Crank. Is it vibration free? I thought I heard it was clocked differently than the Dart crank and had some issues there, but I can't remember where I heard that.

Looking to use it with a Dart SHP Block in a 427 with a 4" throw for a 7500 RPM or so operating range.

I should have my new Callies CCW crank tomorrow, but it will not be in the engine until Spring. An Engineer at Callies said they are a biatch to balance, but they are cherry when they are done.

How much HP are you trying to make? n/a?

A Molnar crank is good for 1500hp+ ..... I made 1200rwhp on a stock LS cast crank turbo motor for 3 years spinning it to 7500+rpm with cheap Compstar rods.

I built a 441 (4.190" bore) with an LS7 crank/rods to spin to 7500-8000rpm as a road race motor n/a... have yet to run it....but don't expect issues aside from basic rebuilds.

I have both, my Dart is in a 427 for boost and building a bad up one with the Callies CCW crank. Both will see 77-8200rpms, should get the Callies here this week.

750-800 or so NA. Want to be able to spin to 7800-8000 at the most but looking at 7500+ more in general. My cam isn't that large for a 4" stroke. So, I'll have to see how it does. Have a FAST Med Runner for now but may move to a TSP Billet or LOD intake eventually.

I have looked at Molnar a lot, but I like the idea of not having a flexing crank at high RPM to keep it together for a bit longer. I'm always winding it up down the backroads around here.

I have about 800 miles on mine. It has been great so far. Running about 15 psi of boost on a 418 cid LS3. JE Ultra pistons and Callies rods all balanced at Callies. Smooth as silk to 7k.

I was wondering if you knew the weight difference with the extra counterweights. I have my 438 all together with the compstar ccw, but never weighed it. I'm sure its negligible, but just curious

Running this crank in the same block you mentioned above. I run it up to 7500 without issues on my turbo 427. Not sure on the power it made, but i pushed it to 27# and it seemed fine to me...
