07+ cams are single bolt. Only the 07+ 4.8 liter was a non dod engine. All the rest i wanna say were dod. Some had vvt as well.

So what i would do is get any older gen3 cam. 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 will do. Install with a 4x 3 bolt coversion cam gear. U can find a good used cam for around $40-50 shipped on here. Cam gear usually $25-30

FYI You can get a reground stock cam that has a performance profile for not much money, it has a smaller base circle and requires a slightly longer pushrod.

Surprisingly the cylinder wall only has just a couple of places I can barley feel with my fingernail, might be ok to keep for a turbo build later with just a quick hone.

BUT, the lifter doesn't appear to be the cause of the damage. Seems likely that the rocker arm just came apart getting off the tip of the valve stem, breaking the spring, and causing the valve to drop

If cylinder is fine i would slap another used piston and rod in tht cylinder only. The rest should be ok. Wouldnt cost but a couple hundred and be back goin. Good ls swap canidate!

I can confirm that you are not safe just deleting it the tune. I thought it was a coincidence but I’ve done had several dod lifters fail that have been deleted in ecm. The only way to be safe is to swap cam and lifters. If you don’t change the camshaft it will misfire idling you have to swap the cam. Normally the dod lifters eat the factory camshaft up anyway.

I had the same thing happen in my motor and it was because one of those spring keepers came off which pop the spring and the valve dropped on the piston

They'll never activate again.

Since we're bumping a 5yr old thread I posted in before, might as well give a follow up...
The '10 Sierra with a stuck lifter I was working on is still going as a daily driver. It probably had over 100K at the time, and has over 250K today. We put 2 new lifters in and put the head back on. DIsabled DOD in the tune and been driving it ever since. That said, it does have intermittent mis at idle. Sometimes cold, sometimes when its warm. Not consistent at all. Owner lives with it.
Next time I probably would change all the lifters and go with a NON DOD cam.

The lobes are different on the DOD cylinders. Duration and rate of lift. Swap out the cam if going with standard lifters.
