Again didn't read post or any of the...but your ?
500 then FI.....

Most will BS u...get a goal + a budget.

Stock Crank can take X amount of ...on a good tune with a Future in Boost.
Rods need to be on point. Requires Change!
Compression inline with the amount of FI pressure > with cam (with fuel grade in mind.)

Build 4 na hp X 2 ....... = 9.5 compression and asking the long blk 4, 500 hp before 14.5 psi is added which would = 1000 hp.

A Ls with 9.5 comp and 500 hp .....

I would be more inclined to think your tuner is playing with the #'s or something else is wrong, My car was tuned By Mike C. at Vengeance Racing on a brand new 2000 HP dyno, Mike C. is one of the best LS tuners in the world, WITTNESSED by several world records held by Vengeance Racing ALL tuned by Mike C. NOTHINGS wrong with it, Last time on the dyno with this set-up 425 RWHP 418 RWTQ So at the crank somewhere around 475, What I relly want to know is what CR do you have? your LS3 is weak, this car bone stock with a tune laid down 379, your right something is wrong your LS3 with a tune should have been around 410 in a manual car

My vette is #2 on Corvette forums for fastest bone stock ls3 vette at the track. So no, I'd say it's not weak. Lol it's a an auto. Not manual. Lol And no my tuner doesnt play with the dyno numbers. considering every LS1 I've built has gone 10's . Lol my 416 ci 6 speed car I built trapped 137 at full weight (3600lbs) and dynoed 610 wheel.

Not arguing. Just stating facts. And Mike is meh . But that's just my opinion . Likeni said earlier. You can search my name and find all the info you need to huild fast stuff . I post everything for people to learn .

My question is what do I need to do to the LS2 before I install it to hit the 500hp

I’m definitely going turbo in the future.

The LS2 is a 06 GTO motor and it should be delivered this week.

Thanks

Your car should be making North or 470 easy.

I should be getting the heads back today from Katech, got them ported. my question is I’m using LS9 head gaskets from Brian Tooley racing it’s a stock LS two short block with flat top pistons my question is how much can I take off for the heads?
