Question LS2 Budget build

So I finished my 5.3 LS swap and have been driving it for a month or two and like everything want more HP, keep in mind this truck is a 05 Colorado crew cab with 6” lift and 33x12.50 tires. Trans is a built 4L60E with 2400 stall. The 5.3 has a TSP cam stage 2 #25-TSP212218R6112

My question is what do I need to do to the LS2 before I install it to hit the 500hp

I’m definitely going turbo in the future.

The LS2 is a 06 GTO motor and it should be delivered this week.

Don't rely on the internet for engine expertise. Call a good cam grinder like TSP or Cam Motion.
They would help coordinate your setup.
A little homework on your part can't hurt either.

Keep the stock LS2 heads and give them a good CNC job, mill them for higher compression, and then contact cam motion or Patrick Guerra for a camshaft recommendation.
I would also fit a fast intake too. Flows a lot better than the stock one.
500hp at the crank should be achieved easily and drive well.

Good info bortous! To add to that, TSP does CNC porting/valve jobs quite reasonably, plus they can grind/recommend a cam to suit your needs.

How soon is turbo happening? Id say build motor for boosted set up, enjoy drivn it as a slug for now and catapult your turbo dreams into reality...500 what?! One less thing to do once turbo goes on. Motor will be squared away n ready for it.

Will the stock injectors support the 500hp? I’ve replaced the stock fuel pump with a Walbro 450 and the feed line to a -6.

06 ls2 corvette. Trick flow fast as cast 220's flow better then any stock ported 243's. 231/239 617/624 comp cam. Fast manifold PP/TB. What's different? If anything I got more then him. 425 at the wheel about 25 short. Yes I'm going to pull the heads and mill them, 23 off the heads and 7 off the gaskets for a total of .030 should put me at 11.5 cr. Let's see if ya all are right

I've grown to take "hero" dyno pulls with a grain of salt.

Yeah such and such combo made 49x hp at this one dyno's shop this one time and his car ran crazy and blah blah

Guys number 2 and 3 copy the setup almost exactly and only make 47x...

Wut...

Dats life.

Both cars ended up running well, though. I mean, hypothetically... Honestly i'm not sure why people are so dead set about obtaining a certian HP number. I'd be more worried about getting the car down the track as quick as i could.

Boom. Especially if it's mainly a track car. Mostly street, worry more about how it feels to drive. If it's crisp on the pedal and it responds the way you like, the rest will take care of itself.

I think G said something about throttle response in another thread? and now you too. This does have me thinking that an increase in CR is the way to go for me,{part of the puzzle that's missing} It is LAZY on the throttle, not very crisp!

To me, a good, crisp and strong throttle response is a sure sign of a dialed-in combo or tune.

TFS220 as cast a fast 102 intake port matched to the heads and 102 TB with a decent cam 23x/23x cam really not much to it.
