coolant in #6 cyl
Asking for a guy I work with.... I don't know much about LS engines so I wanted to ask around.
He picked up a complete LSA drivetrain supposedly with about 4k on it going in a gen 2 camaro pro street build. Got it from an auto dismantler who has a contract with GM.
It was a marketing vehicle hence the low miles.
He installed a new cam, reused original lifters. I believe he removed the supercharger and lower intake to do the cam swap.
Engine hasn't been started yet, but has coolant running out #6 spark plug hole. With the radiator cap off, the coolant level will drop.
I was thinking a leak in the charge air cooler but he claims it has a separate cooling circuit for the cooler. Is it possible to have a leak in the charge air cooler allowing coolant to fill the cylinder through the intake port? Any ideas where to look for the source of the coolant getting into the cylinder? All I can think of is head gasket, cracked liner, or head.
Is there something he could has missed when putting it back together? Thanks.
