This is what I have come up with for my PCV system. I'm still retaining my factory evap solenoid. I'll be using a breather instead of the dump line. I am going to add throttle body spacers, because I'd rather put a nipple on a $30 piece of aluminum, instead of tapping an expensive manifold. This design is based on the MightyMouse setup.

The only part to be capped off is the port on the front of the valley cover

Default 823 Head breakdown

Got my 823 heads cleaned and disassembled. Super easy and straight forward. Used the LS valve spring compressor tool from Bluegrass Performance.

got the heads wrapped up and ready to be sent off to Frankenstein to let them work their magic.

Adam, were those lifters available at the time of ordering or did you have to wait on them? I could not find Johnson lifters anywhere a few weeks ago.

I ordered mine from Brian Tooley Racing, but they did tell me that Johnson was behind, because of all of the shut downs, so I waited I think about a month or so before receiving mine.

Looking good there how is the build going along Adam? I am in the process of rebuilding my L92 as well. Are you keeping the VVT?

Also, I noticed you are going or planning on running the Edelbrock Cross Ram. Are any of the front drive accessories, such as the alternator, going to interfere with the throttle bodies? Would like to see some pics of that intake if you have it bolted onto your engine already.

Cheers

To the OP... I’m am also working on doing a performance Yukon Denali... look up Stapleton42 on YouTube... he’s killing it with his Escalade. He’s a good guy to message on Instagram about l92 questions.

Cant wait to see your finished product!

so the build took a bit of a turn/hiatus. Re-established my business and got set up with a huge network of the best companies around for all automotive products.

I’m completely dumping my L92 (gonna tear into that for a new project) and using an LS9 Block. I’m doing a full VVT delete.

The block actually just got back from machining, Unfortunately some studs were lost in the mail due to carelessness of USPS. And because the LS9 uses an M12 head stud I have to wait until the back order is filled (a few weeks) luckily since I’m an ARP dealer, I am at the top of the list.

I’m not sure if I will have any interference between the alternator and the driver’s side intake. I have t been able to mock up the engine. But I had already planed on relocating the alternator to the low side of the engine and bring the power steering pump to the topside.

But like I said the build took a hiatus. In that time I did my new front and lifted it and all the other fun small cosmetic/suspension goodies. There is a possibility of jumping the entire LS swap and jumping into a Duramax swab instead because right off the bat I will be sending 1500 ft-lb torque and 750hp with a conservative build (figuring these logistics out)

While I am excited to see your stroker come together, I am very disappointed in seeing the eddy crossram imtake. Richard Hohenstaufen (?) on YouTube did a Dyno with a forged LY6 short block and that intake was a pc of pretty junk. The Holley Sniper cross ram did awesome , but that was a cathedral port Maybe call Holley to see when they plan on doing a rect port head. I’d sell the eddy and go OEM LS3 intake

I appreciate the input, honesty I love the look of the Ed. Cross ram more, and the price I got it for was way too good to pass up. Also the idea behind it was to get better torque numbers, not so much peak hp again I’m moving a 6000 lifted SUV so I need as much usable torque as possible....also another reason why I may be shifting to a diesel swap

As you all know, life happens, and builds always take longer than we expect, especially with this covid bs year 😵

So What’s new? Have the machines block. Have heads back from Frankenstein. Everything has been cleaned and I’m doing assembly now.

Currently degreeing my cam and getting a bit frustrated. I have the comp cams degree kit and i and getting and intake center line of 107.5* the card states for 109* intake center line. And I doing something wrong? Is this just stacked tolerances adding up? I’m going to re-degree to see if it changes. Cam specs are 219/235 .607”/.621 lobe separation is 113 and it is ground 4* advanced.

here are some pictures of progress

Don't believe the Richard Holdner bullshit. I have spoken to Richard @ WCCH at length and he knows the guys at E-Brock pre- buyout very well. He was remotely involved w/ the LS3 crossram and he said it makes insane torque/power across the band. I trust him waaayyy more than Holdner. Once you really start understanding engine building/hp/flow, you'll never even look at Holder's stuff again. It's so full of holes in how he tests, it's not really worth of a comparison, most of time.

Honestly, I have never even seen his content. And I do know the incredible benefits of the cross ram and thats why I picked it Originally, I came across a photo of it and began researching it, I mean the viper, lamborghini, and ferrari can't all be wrong haha. And yes, I actually spoke with Richard in depth about it. I'm excited to see how it wakes up the stroker!

The crossrams look cool.
Aren't they similar to the FAST intakes in terms of torque output and performance?
They seem to have around the same operating RPM range.
