Default LY6 stock short block

So I have been thinking about all the info shared in my earlier posts and wanted some opinions and critique on my choice for valve events. These were chosen with the following goal in mind. Daily driven, high torque, fuel efficient, trailer towing vehicle
Chevy Tahoe (5700lbs) 3.90 gear 32.9" tires (stock size) 2800 stall 6l80e.
Stock ly6 bottom end
AFR210 hand finished by Tony 64cc which raises compression from 9.6:1 to 10:25:1 approx. by my simple calculation.
TBSS intake or Fast 102 matched to heads
Keeping the VVT with limiter so may want some help there.

I would **** can the VVT and go for more compression, about 11:1. TBSS intake is a winner for $$$. Camming is critical for the weight/combo to make it work.

Isn’t the TBSS manifold a cathedral port intake?

TBSS intake best bang for the buck period. I have heard of guys on the truck forum removing the fast 102mm in favor of the TBSS intake due to sealing issues.

I thought so, especially with the stated goal of the build.

I apologize. I only skimmed or the original post. I seen LY6 as figured the complete engine. Mamo’s heads would be great. I haven’t heard of anybody ever doing a aftermarket cathedral port head VVT cam swap here on LS1tech before. Most people will tell u to ditch the vvt I would be interested in seeing this. I have a LY6 myself ( compete engine)

I will have the complete engine, I just feel the small cathedrals will be a big advantage for the desired result. I'm not chasing a HP number. under the curve numbers are my focus. Preferable off idle to 4k ish.

I personally like the way you think. Most guys chase a dyno number then deep down the vehicle is not enjoyable.

Sounds familiar.
This is the right way to do it.
I'm doing the same.

I have a 383 in it now that I got caught up with the HP/Dyno bug. Lots of good parts with very unimpressive results. Looking to go a different route and be done. I have a 51 Dodge panel truck that will be the new home of the 383 short block.

Anyone have thoughts on my valve event selection? Does the VVT aspect make it unappealing? Lol
