Default Casting defects or cracked pan? -- pics

These "cracks" only show up on the inside of the pan. Is this normal casting defects, or would you be looking for another pan?

Since the rollover accident, this engine has been sitting in a barn for two years. It has not leaked oil, but it's not been thermally stressed either.

Also, what's the purpose of the steel plate bolted on the outside of the pan in pics 3 and 4?

You could always do a little sanding in the cracked parts and see if they go away. Some of those look more like tiny ridges than cracks.
