Default LS2 Short Block Value

My apologies if this isn't the correct section but looking for a quick ball park value. I have a clean LS2 short block with maybe 20k on it, trying to find what the value of it would be because I have a buddy that wants to do some trading for it but I don't wan't to get the short end of the stick on it.

Here in NM, I've seen low mileage short blocks go for anywhere from $1000-$1400. With no accessories, short block only, I'd personally say $1200 at the top end of things. You can get a full swap including harness and transmission here in the southwest for anywhere from $2-3k.

Probably not worth anything. In fact, you'll have to pay someone to take it. I'll do you a solid. I'll take it and you won't have to pay me...

Around $1k is pretty good number. You'd think it would be more than that, but the LS2 was kind of a weird one. Most will just grab a LS3 or a JY truck 6.0 for $600-$800

Yea, kinda what I was thinking on it being a weird one. For the price and availability of an iron 6.0 it makes it kind of a niche market. I apprechiate the input guys!!

This was a warranty engine from GM long ago. Looked like someone tried to do a cam swap, didn't torque the cam gear and it lessened up and started to walk the cam. Was caught before any big damage was done, super clean inside and out but all stock, and currently I have it disassembled in crates, minus the crank is sitting in the block.

I made more money parting out my short block.

I ended up getting $675 for the block, crank (needed turned), rods, pistons and cam.

Good info. I've got a complete stock running ls2 in mine right now. I'm planning on just leaving it alone and selling it whole then just build a seperate motor.
