I’m with you guys, I’d gladly give up max power for under the curve torque and power. I see a lot of people donkey dick cam and Holley hi ram trucks that they daily. I could see if the went FAST hi ram. I think that would be a lot better vs Holley HR. I honestly don’t see how Holley sells a lot of those.

Total budget deal, but it has forged rods/pistons.
Was an LS1, trying to keep it cheap, so cam, heads, Fast 102 intake port matched etc all from the LS1.
Nice to see folks on board about making power where it counts!
I think its gonna rip nicely. I bet it picks up 2 tenths and a couple mph. It was far from a slouch with the LS1. But mam, at 100k miles, it was tired!
Also agree about the Hi Ram Holley. It does look cool though.
I’m a tuner and always get called after folks finish their builds, and guess what? There’s a Holley intake on a mild combo. Funny. Should have used a cathedral TBSS intake.
Looking forward to your progress. Gonna be cool in the 51 Dodge.

If you were going for top end, I would suggest 48-50 and more compression

Cam in my Vette is 226/230 114+1
Nice crackle at idle. Didn’t give away any secrets. 😊
Patrick G. Is the guy to go to for a custom VVT Cam. Actually, I think CAM MOTION can do it too. You just need to have someone experienced to tune it. If you don’t want to do the tuning game, just give TSP a call. They have a lot of exper. with VVT stuff and they GIVE you the VVT tables.
I’m interested on where this build goes. Best of luck
Jim
