Default 6.0 build help

Hey guys, just picked up a 6.0, it's been bored 40 over, new flat top pistons, I have Ls3 heads to go on it, getting rid of the dod, what cam sprocket do I need to do the swap, also is there any builds that make 500hp with this set up? Or how much power can I make N/A thanks

Cam sprocket will depend on if is a 24x or 58x crank wheel. 500hp with a 6.0 is easy with square port heads. How much power can be made is usually determined by how much money you have to throw at it and any self imposed restrictions such as stock hood or restrictive exhaust

If it had DOD it is a Gen IV, which means a 58x reluctor.

I based my post on the fact that there are NO 24x 6.0's that came with DOD, as opposed to some 5.3's that did (LH6). The only 24x Gen IV 6.0 was the early LS2, which did not have DOD.
This 6.0 IS 58x for the reasons above.

LS3 heads and intake on a 40-over 6.0L... 500hp shouldn't be too difficult.

Spend a little bit on some good lifters and springs, get a cam spec'ed for your combination and goals.

He stated he is getting rid of DOD. This means it still had DOD, and for that reason the reluctors had not been changed. Use a little logic here.

You will need to go with a 3 bolt cam and sprocket with new lifters, lifter trays, valley cover and possibly push rods. Check out BTR racing as I believe he as many others have cam kits for those getting away from DOD setups.

You need a 4X cam sprocket with the 58 tooth reluctor. I use the RollMaster CS1190 for my 58 tooth stuff. Comes with the best timing chain in the industry, billet timing gears, and a billet oil pump drive. WS6Store has the best price on this set btw.
