I've seen the same, fuel usage seems to track very nicely with whp on a dyno.

Good results! Thats right in line with what we see on a 5.3L on 30lbs from a box stock GT55 94mm, hopefully those summit parts are good for another 300 or so when they are leaned on. I have faith in the hard parts, less on the block and head clamping when you start pushing these things into that level.

Damn the little 84/93 joint? Should wake up nicely when it can breathe.

The wheel is a 112mm wheel. But the gt47 housing was machined my FI to fit the wheel. I bought this turbo because it fits in the spot perfectly.

Ahh gotcha like stuffing the 88/96 in a T4 housing. Should make a lot more than 1300 with that wheel then, certainly does with the 1.24 housing. You didn't want to use the tial housing? I cant go back to normal flanges, vbands are so much better.

Rods are balanced to each other. But the cranks aren't spun to the resulting bobweight. Balancing is almost always necessary because a dome dish or flat top along with the pin we use will rarely be the same as the factory combination. Also, once in a while we see folks take a rod/piston assembly and compare ours and the factory on a gram scale. This is incorrect and could lead to problems because the bobweight calculation takes into account rotating and reciprocating numbers (big end of the rod and bearings vs. pistons/pins/rings/clips.

As for the valve reliefs. the 5.3/5.7 heads are Cathedral port and laid back to 13 degrees for aftermarket or angle milled heads. 6.0/6.2 pistons are a combination pocket of Cathedral and LS3....laid back to 12 degrees for the better aftermarket heads. 7.0 pistons go one step further with cathedral/rectangle/LS7 reliefs.

As for RPM, we generally rate the cranks/rods/pistons at 5000 fpm. This is because a 4" crank at 7500rpm has the same piston speed as a 3.622 at 8,275. That being said, we fully expect Mavn to pull the lever when it noses over as most of our customers do!
Will your pro Ls 4.030 pistons hold 200-400 shot of nitrous. 1200 max engine hp

I can see youre new to the forum life lol.

A stock piston can take a 300-400 hit . Its all In the tune . So yes. Summit parts should have no problem if your tuner doesnt suck

Mavn is correct about the pistons and pins being fine at the 1000+ hp range with standard pins. Well over that with our SUM-S719 or SUM-S720 tool steel pins. This is with turbocharged boost where cylinder pressure doesn’t spike as it does with nitrous. Anytime a 300+ shot of nitrous is used, we recommend the stouter pins. Pins won’t usually break but can bend when nitrous is engaged at too-low rpm. In other words, if you have a 450hp LS with a 300 shot making 750hp, we’d still recommend a SUM-S719 pin. Those pins are made in the USA as well. H-13 tool steel and .215 wall thickness. Very beefy.

As for the rest of the pistons, we’ve maxed-out the ring land thickness and they are built from 2618 alloy. We’ve tuned the valve relief depth and CNC-relieved to avoid hot-spots. The forging itself has the best strength to weight ratio on the market by far. Please let us know if you have any questions.
