Default LS7 Short Block Bearing Suggestions

Hey guys,

I am rebuilding my mom's, yes my mom's lol, LS7 for her 07 Z06 since I was so kind to blow it up for her. Lost #6 exhaust valve (stock heads) and cracked the cylinder wall/piston. Hoping that's the extent of the damage, didn't see any flakiness coming out in the oil but did have a lot of coolant in the oil pan and some material on the magnetic drain plug.

Moving on, I have another LS7 block and stock rotating assembly now that I am going to put together for her with a TSP heads/cam combo. My question is, does everyone still recommend the Clevite MS-2294H main bearings and Clevite CB-663HN rod bearings? Also taking suggestions for piston rings.

Thanks in advance,
Derek

I have BB-663HNK for the rods (k = tri-armor coated) and 2199HXK and 2199HK for the mains. X is .001 undersize. My mains have ARP studs and was align honed. STD stuff isn't working for me.

The part number you listed apparently has 180* oil groove vs normal LS bearings have a 140* oil groove. For the mains, I would get the bearings that are readily available at the best price - PN 2199 or 2294 will work for you. I've seen a post in the past where Katech uses 2199 for every engine they build. Mahle seems to very slightly prefer a 180* groove vs 140* groove.
