Ls3 heads on a ls2 stroker
Hi, my car has a ls2 403 stroker, it's a 99 ss camaro with a 6 speed. My best pass is a 6.8 @ 103 mph, I currently have prc 2.5 5.3 heads with a fast 102 intake. Car is 3450 with me in it, I would like to run a 6.5, should I think about these heads, or another route? The car will always be n/a.

What are you cam specs ?
Best 60ft ?
Compression Ratio ?
Is the Fast 102 mm intake ported ?
What tires are you running ?
13.1 pump e85
I run 295/60/16's hoosier drag radials
the cam is 247 255 duration .625 lift
I did a little work on the fast intake
Act 6 puck clutch
8.8 rear end 4.10 gears
1 3/4 se headers, Texas speed true duals
I had these heads on my ls1 and just reused them,
I don’t know if it’s possible with the stick but you need a 1.40 sixty and you’re pretty much there.
MPH wise you’re pretty much there too so I’m not sure more power is what you need.
Bigger cathedrals would be a better direction than ls3 and keeps your intake compatible.

Expensive upgrade for little gains. Trickflow 225 ls2 heads with lightweight valves would be what I would put on it. If you go ls3 you need to change intake as well. Not worth it imo. Not with a 4.000 bore. If it was me, id put a nitrous kit on it and spray 100 shot. Very safe and would cost less than a new set of heads. Also would not require tearing the engine apart. Otherwise, just work on suspension/launch and maximize the 60.
Could also put med runners in the fast to get more up top. Dont think you will be revving it out enough with that cam and heads for a short runner

Leave the heads, cam, and intake as-is.
Throw in some 1 7/8" or 2" headers. Should help that stroker breath. Really take advantage of those true duals.
Take some more weight out of car if you can.

A free way to play with your 60 ft is play with the shock settings and your tire pressure. Go with as much air pressure as the car likes. You also can play with your launch RPM and the clutch.
One plus on the bigger headers. Good post David.
You've got the compression...
1)Shocks
2) Header
3) all else fails TFS 235's
Once you perfect the launch and the cars dialed in then maybe a Head swap...
Oh yeah Vacuum Pump ...small things after you've Maximized the Chassis.....then no place 2 go is But ⬇️ on a ET.
Add some lift with that compression 🤫 if heads R changed

My thoughts are with the added stroke, there would be more chances of blow by. Causing more crankcase pressure. I’m still looking to add a vacuum pump to my LS3 stroker.
