LY6 VVT start up with Holley Terminator, before VVT delete
Swapping an LY6 into 69 camaro, build plan is for full rebuild with vvt delete, holley terminator X.
Can I install and start this engine as a stock engine with VVT in place -non operational, on holley terminator x. Intent is to test all my wiring and install with stock engine. Pull the engine for rebuild with VVT delete, not have to start a new engine with untested install.
What does VVT do at idle and under 3000 rpm, without any controls. My assumption is the VVT will do nothing, am I safe to start the engine?

vvt shouldnt effect anything, the afm will not pump up the lifters on those cylinders without the VLOM control (itll be stuck in 4 cyl mode)
plug on front cover for the cam sensor needs to be in, plug for the vvt actuator shouldnt have to be - might go into limp mode tho

Lucky on 2008 LY6. VVT, but no AFM.
cam sensor plug, Ill have to consider, think VVT is spaced differently or may use different plug compared to non VVT. Ill have to see what terminator X uses and if I need to change front cover specifically for that. Good Call.
limp mode - shouldnt be an issue with Holley terminator x and no factory ecm hooked up. Let me know if im wrong.
The start up, will be to test major systems, wiring, fuel etc. No driving involved. I like what I'm hearing, please continue to bring up concerns
