Guys stay NA for a few reasons.
1) They don't understand boost and its beyond their skill set, or they can't afford it.
2) They think its some kind of bragging rights to say you run a certain number, if you have a 9 sec car, who really cares if its NA or forced induction? I care that I have a 9 sec car thats quiet, smooth, no rough *** loud *** idle and it gets 20+ mpg.....Can't say the same about a NA setup that runs 9's.....can you?
3) If you get beat by a boosted car, do you whine that he was boosted? Because the fact is, you lost. thats all that really counts. You can tell yourself it's unfair all you want, but anyone can buy nitrous, turbo or supercharger and go faster.
Building a strong NA motor IS a challenge....and thats fine if you like a challenge and spending alot more time and money dialing it in....but I grew tired of running xx.xx number and then trying to find that last tenth without swapping cam, bigger heads, more stall, more gear, less weight, bigger motor......with boost....you just turn it up....run out of turbo...bigger turbo. to each their own I guess...but the simple fact does remain...the replacement for displacement is boost.
Whats wrong with steroids? is that a bad thing too?
I predict some butthurt is coming....lol
