This is probably not correct info but Summit says LSA had hollow stems.

Found this:

The LSA valve is 119-120

The LS3 Valve is 89g

Aftermarket Rev hollow stem is 92g

Given the weight, seems like it would be solid?

Ferrea hollow stems weight in at 108-109g and I don't think it would be wise to run a GM hollow stem in a supercharged application.

I've seen mistakes published by GM, so honestly, no idea. I'm just trying to make sense out of it to end up with the valves I want.

Agree, I want solid stem for blower app as well, not revving it to moon, 6k or less, but then hold for a while. I may just end up buying one of each to sacrifice (send to out for metallurgical analysis) to then know what is what. On the LSA intake valve, I could just cut a valve up and look for any voids. On the LY6 exhaust, it really just says "Hi Temp Material", which could mean just stainless (not inconel). I'm OK spending $200 to know what I have and it being OE quality.

Thanks for publishing the weights, at least acts as a guide.

Yet another error on Summits database. I’ve posted about this before. I love Summit Racing. Been buying from them for over 30 years, but I dont trust their database. I’ve seen too many errors on there. GM’s database as well has errors. Databases are written by humans and humans are prone to mistakes, especially humans that have likely never been inside an engine.

👍 if you think about what Darin and Billy are saying it seems simple in the idea and how the system works out as a Air Pump.

My Ferrera hollow intakes are 2.20” and weigh 98 grams. I agree with you and would not run a hollow stem in a FI setup.

I need a set. What's the length? Also 👍 on the post of the weight.
I have all my tulip tip exhaust valves @ 1.55 diameter.

5.2” long for the TFS heads. Your setup may vary…

Why is it that the Ferrea 2.20 hollow stem is 98g and my 2.165 weigh in at 108.75g

Now the exhaust valves come in at around 98g. I wonder if the L92 hollow stem has thicker walls or something compared to an LS7 valve.

Theres 3 avg lengths

1) 5.2

2) 5.4"ish: Mast heads/ All Pro: 5.2 to 5.4'ish, I believe

3) Raised runners like the FED f710 head 5.6'ish

Could be wall thickness I suppose? I weighed them myself. I thought I had pics, but I don’t. I do have a picture of one of Darths intake valves, which are Ti and bigger than mine.

Coated Ti intake valve looks like a freaking piece of fine jewelry.

Default Rev Kit for LS engines

I have used a "Rev Kit" in LS engines.

This allows for a lower pressure Valve Spring of less weight.
This method will extend "lite" valve life.
The cam lobe/ lifter will not be damaged if a Valve Spring breaks.

Just thought I'd chime in with weights as I weighed my valves, these were from Mamo Motorsports in a set of Tony's MMS235's with the hollow valve upgrade. Don't know the valve brand off the top of my head.

2.100" intake valve weighs in at 100g
1.600" exhaust valve weighs in at 98g

We apologize for the error in our LSA spec article and we are making an update. We encourage the community to send us corrections IF they have 100% verifiable knowledge. There are 46 Gen. 3 and 4 spec articles and prior to us publishing those, no one had gone through the nearly two year long effort to create the article. Our specs are more accurate than Wiki as a for instance and many others, but will always be a work in progress.
