Default LS1 Flywheel confusion

I have a gen 4 aluminum 5.3 from a truck which had the 4l80e, i ditched that for a t56 to swap into another vehicle. i’m stuck here mating the trans because the flywheel i have does not match the bolt holes or thread all the way in, i might get one or two bolts on before the other holes don't line up.

what flywheel do i need to buy?

The 5.3 LS uses a 6 bolt crank, what flywheel do you have?

In most flywheels one bolt is slightly off pattern so the flywheel only goes on one way. Not sure the LS is that way. Turn the flywheel on the crank until all holes line up.

I’ve never seen that on any engine I’ve had a flywheel off of, including my LS3.

The LS platform is not like this. Flywheel does not have to be clocked to the crank, but most clutch setups come “balanced”, so that the clutch must be clocked to the flywheel.
Not sure what’s going on here with the OP. Maybe he will post up with what flywheel he’s using.

Thank you, Scott. I wasn't sure about LS's, as I said, so I thought it MIGHT be a possibility. I'm glad they went away from it. Just another point of confusion...

I’m 04ctsvfl’s roommate, this is my problem.
