Default Tapping-knocking noise LS3
We have an intermittent tapping/knocking noise

You can hear it in the attached video/sound link - any ideas?


Could it be bad/low octane fuel - had not long before filled up
Engine = LS3 Gen IV engine with 2000 kms max on it. Running fine now after 4hr drive home and a new tank of gas.

That noise had NOTHING to do with gas quality/octane. MAYBE a stuck lifter that finally loosened up?

Sounds valvetrain related and I never heard it really go away.

It goes away when the roller stops rolling completely...
