Lifter bore issues I got a long block off a guy who told me it had a knock in it when they pulled it. After pulling the engine apart I found a lifter roller was damaged and it wiped out the cam. Sent it out to the machine shop for those LS prep special were they said they would look over everything they didn’t find anything. So now I’m putting lifters in and I notice I have to give one lifter a good push to get down the bore. The bore looked and felt fine with my finger. Can I just hone it somehow and call it good? Or did I waste $1k on machine and $500 on a block?
Try the lifter in another hole, as it could be the lifter body itself. If it’s not the lifter, I’d do as Corona said and carry the block back to the shop, with a lifter, and tell them they missed something. That’s literally a 15 minute correction. Then tell them they owe you gas money…😜
