Default So which one is it?! Ls Truck engine help needed
Looking for some help on identifying my engine. Number on the back of the block is 12576278, heads are 243 and has a truck manifold. I was told it was a 4.8 and came out of a Silverado 2008.

It sits in a custom 51 Chevy truck, so not looking for crazy power, but any advice on some mods is always welcomed!

You might have one digit wrong.
12576178 is a legit block number for a 2008 LY2 4.8 and is used on both Gen IV 4.8 engines.
12576278 is not.

Sorry- must have been a typo. You are right- ends in 178. Thanks for the help identifying it.
