Default LS2 Forged Pistons and Rods

Hello all . I have an LS2 that I just pulled out of my 06 GTO. My question for you all is, what would be a good forged piston( spec wise ) to run that will perform decently while it’s N/A and Cammed with LS3 heads and maybe nitrous and later see an LSA Supercharger kit? I know there is probably no definitive answer but do I have to choose one or the other ? N/A and Nitrous ? Or N/A and eventually FI? I’m sorry if this has been beaten to death but I have been out of the community for a decent while and haven’t kept up with my LS Knowledge.
All input is appreciated.

The most important thing here will be ring gap for future boost or nitrous and compression ratio for boost down the road. Is there better forged piston then other sure but most forged piston for a ls will handle what you are looking to do.

I like the Mahle Powe Packs w/ the thin rings. They actually make some power, not just a lateral move powerwise. For the $$, tough to beat. For el cheapo build, DSS or UEM, but be careful with UEM, they have limited size choices. DSS are occasionally off size wise, need to plan ahead on the machining.

On a few LS builds I've used Mahle, Diamond and on a stroker LS Manley pistons. All forged. All worked well.

I agree with the Mahle Power pack pistons. They are very nice.

Summit has good parts too.

I have Compstar rods in my 6.2. I used the budget Scat I beams in an LS1. Nice parts for not much money. Their machining was dead on

Mahle powerpak is what my engine builder uses the most. That said we used Wiseco pistons in mine with the gap set for up to a 250 shot.
