Casting Numbers Help

Default Casting Numbers Help
I have a block that has the casting numbers 12567392. I was told it was a 4.8 but its been through mutiply owners and i dont know if thats true. When ever i look up the numbers it says its a 5.3/325. I took the pcm to get tuned and when i got it back the guy said "stand alone 5.3 tune with a 4l60." did he just tune it wrong or do i have a 5.3?

If that's the matching ecu your tuner should of been able to determine if it was a 5.3 by your vin number also you should have another number on the driver's rear of the engine

The 4.8 and 5.3 use the same casting as the only difference is the shorter stroke crank in the 4.8.
No differences in the block.

he should still be able to tell from the vin though correct? if he has the matching ecu why couldnt his tuner pull it in his tune file?

If he has the VIN for the block's original home he'll know the displacement.
