Default Crate Ls3 with drop in piston and rods?

I’m looking to buy the TSP drop in piston and rod set for my crate ls3. The motors never ran and never opened, will it be as easy as just installing new rods and pistons? They’re balanced to stock crank and are apparently just drop in, same weight and size and all, I’m assuming since the motors new it doesn’t need any machining on the motor, anyone got any opinion on these? Is it that simple?

What' the matter with the OEM pistons and rods?
How much power do you plan to make, and/or how high do you plan to rev it?
You went to a huge expense for a crate motor just to trash the pistons and rods.
The stock LS3 is capable of a lot more than some guys think....

Ita gonna be NA for a little revving to 7k and I planned to TT it down the line but I just thought about getting it out of the way, I’ve heard they bust anywhere past 750, and I wanted to make 800 reliably, is it worth just keeping the stock P&R? If so I’m all down for it to save me some money.

OK, didn't know what the plan was. Stock rotating assemblies can handle 6-7k rpm IF in good shape. More than that, go heavy duty.

It's supposed to be that simple, but by the time you buy the drop in piston and rod setup, you're within $100 of a 427, using a eesleeved ls3 block that has stronger sleeves and a completely forged rotating assembly through Texas speed.

Stock bottom end is pretty robust, but if you decide to pull those pistons and rods out, I’m interested in buying them from you. I have a 6.2 in the shop that could use a new set of pistons and rings. I’ll PM you…

800 is no problem for a sbe ls3 if the tuning is on point.
