Reuse Head Gaskets?
I realized on the way to work that I forgot to toss my lifters in my block before installing and torqueing the heads, so they're coming back off tonight.
Should I buy new gaskets, or will they be safe to reuse since there's 0 run time, fluids, etc as the engine is still on the stand.
Gaskets are Cometic MLX, and bolts are ARP. I prepped the heads and block surfaces by criss cross sanding with 3M 320 grit and WD40, and followed with a brake cleaner bath and physically wiped mating surfaces with brake cleaner on a white paper towel if that makes any difference.
The engine will be seeing roughly 12psi +/- of boost if that makes a "Yes" or "NO" difference.
