That's the thing... the (factory) clutches in these cars are really pretty soft. Maybe stiffer than some FWD nancy-mobile, but certainly not as bad as they could be. Hell, I had a '90 T-bird SC with a clutch that felt like a dump truck compared to the factory F/Y-car clutch... in all honesty, I was pleasantly surprised when I worked an LS1 F-car clutch for the first time.

The price discrepency is astonishing among the vehicles in their drag race. For the price, Corvette is an absolute bargain compared to the other three. Why do I doubt that they will repeat that against a more compribly priced 06 Z06. Or for that matter, a 'Blue Devil'.

I don't understand why you guys are getting all worked up. It was an ENGLISH TV show for cryin' out loud. Did you THINK they were going to give it a fair break? The only reason they gave any props at all is because the Vette (and Viper) kicks their Lymee butts around most of the GTI/GTII tracks.

It was a pretty rough review, and the stig they have drive the car around the track is an freaking EXCELLENT driver on every show I've seen, so either the corvette is actually hard to drive compared to other sports cars...or...he was just having a bad day.

Either way, I do agree that they seemed to hate the car before they even got started. Definitly some bias going on in there. They loved the ford GT though, so its not about being anti-american as far as I can tell.

its true tho, they arent biased because they havent grown up in america loving corvettes, granted it could have been driven better and its quarter it should have been first. but cmon guys, its not a z06/7 or a blue devil. thats a base model vette. against a lot of HOPPeD UP SUPERCARS. look how well the base did, now imagine what z06 can do.

Everything else may be subjective, but there is absolutely no way C6 can loose a drag race to an NSX. That's a simple and obvious

I personally thought it was funny. I agree with some of the things that were said, but it was obvious the show isn't meant to be an unbiased review.

I actually found that pretty amusing
Bottom line is 400ft/lbs of torque is way more then they can handle.
Kept complaining about over steer.....well when you drive a high hp/tq rwd car like it's a high reving awd thats what you get.
And that guy shaking his wrist after shifting??? What a freak'n pansy

I think it's very telling that ***** boy is complaining about the "rough ride" of the C6, while my mom loves the way her C5 rides.

That was a smear campaign, plain and simple. A C6 will kill an NSX in any sort of drag race - I know, because C5 will, and a C6 is by all accounts quicker. Of course maybe not with girly man "my wrist and *** hurt from this car" driving.

The Britts are slack jawed *******, (like the Governor of my state) that couldn't build a car to save their lives!! The A/C did not become a Great car until some Yank, by the name of...... Carroll Shelby put in a rip snortin' American V8 from Ford in this car, and the rest is history. Consider the source. These are the same people that used the Infamuos Lucas Electronics to power the Britt made Jaguars. The English made Jags are notorious for electrical problems. They didn't get that straight until they merged with who........, that's right; Ford/Lincoln. Don't put too much stock in those Tea toodling, crumpet eating, sissies. I'm out. Gotta Jump in my LS1 Camaro SS and look for some of the Queen's Finest on the road. Damn!! I forgot, they don't sell any Britt cars in the states cause nobody wants them.

I think the ride was rough due to the ***** stuck in his ***.
They should import a US driver for the drag test since they know jack **** about drag racing. That was at least an 8 out of 10 on the meter.

Ok, I registered because I watched this same vid. a few weeks ago ( it pissed me off ) I know that vette would beat those other cars. Is there any way we can get those brits to bring any of their cars over here for a some real grudge match drag racing. I sure there are plenty of guys here in the states that could beat down anything those **** could show up with.

Why bring a car out for testing and comparison and then trash it in front of an audience? Talk about throwing what credibility you have straight out the window. What makes me laugh is how they make "Car and Driver TV" look good. Way too dramatic those guys are...the shifting pain, and what the hell is with that pebble stunt, give me break. Immature and uninformed.
