4.15" bore w/ the same ol' 3.62" stroke crank used in the LS1, LS6, and the LSx trucks. Whaala 6.4L
Using current available parts will reduce costs, and this set-up would be a sweet top-end tach lover.

When we were in BG for the f-body gathering in Sept., we took the tour of the plant and the only thing we could squeeze out of the tour guide was there was a zo6 in the plant (behind close doors of course) and the engineers were still working on the car as they were still not happy with the final product. He did say it would have 500hp, but he also said the way they were changing stuff, that may not even be correct.
At Road Atlanta, Dave Hill was very tight lipped. (expected) But he did mention they were looking at two weeks to get this thing right and still had alot of work to do.
So, as far as what the car will have, they themselves may not know yet. Its amazing how much testing and work goes into perfecting a Vette.

CarPoint has learned that the 7.0-litre Gen IV V8, to be unveiled in the Corvette Z06 at the Detroit motor show in January, is almost certain to power the next generation HSV GTS sedan and coupe. The new engine, due for North American launch in the Corvette late in 2005 along with a new six-speed automatic gearbox, could be here in early 2006.
More info on the potential for a 6 speed auto (for the base LS2 cars only I would assume for Dave Hill said the Z06 will never have an auto) as well.

The 6.4 comes from a chart of new/upcoming GM engines slated for production that leaked out.
Now there's talk of TWO Z06 models, 500hp and 550hp (maybe 6.4L and 7.0L?).
