We are working on a short block that we will have in stock very soon. Tell me how this sounds........LS2 block, Eagle 4340 4.000" stroke crank, Crower 4340 I beam rods, SRP pistons (-16cc dish, should put you 10.2 to 10.5 to 1), file fit rings, and Clevitte 77 bearings. Fully balanced & race preped. This will also come with the LS2 front cover, LS2 cam & crank gear, Ls2 timming chain, and cam sensor. The one thing that everyone needs to know up front is there is no way to run the LS2 knock sensors. When you tune your computer you will have to turn the knock sensors off. I will have a price soon, and will post it as quick as I can.

That sounds like a great combo! If it prices out close to as mentioned before, it should be popular. Once someone works out the knock sensor issue, I bet you'll have a lot of takers. Until then . . . I bet a lot of us won't be willing to take the risk of running without them.

Sounds great

Might want to price a couple of different options. (low comp versus high comp)

If you are building a blower motor go with 8.25:1 compression if you plan on running pump gas. Let the blower push the cfm for you.

-25cc piston with an 80cc head will give 8.3:1 compression using .045 gasket and pistons .008 out of the hole.

Some interesting info in here about possibly adding LS1 knock sensors to a LS2:

Possibly "interesting" information. Particularly if it is correct. I have been trading emails with a Vettenet member that has an LS2 block in his garage waiting parts. He says there are 5 bosses in the LS2 block. At least 2 have the proper thread for an LS1 KS. There are also 2 bosses with threads for the LS2 KS. He says he has screwed a couple of his extra LS1 sensors in the block. I don't personally know the gentlemen but it seems likely that he was able to actually touch the block and try it, so hopefully his information is accurate.

Now I don't know nor does he if the KS will be hearing the same frequency when the motor detonates as it does in the valley cover, but we shall see. I am going to modify my harness to reach the LS1 sensors in the block bosses. I am also buying 2 LS2 sensors that will go in the place they should. Pretty quickly we are going to have someone come up with a solution that works I would bet.

Kris tells me that the only parts for my 402 that he didn't have were the crank and pistons and they were ordered last week. My current motor is mostly out of the car, so I hope to have the new motor in and running by the New Year.

The only little details that are coming up are AFR 225s or reusing my TEA heads and the size of the cam. Other things like "while the motor is out should I install a custom subframe and A arms, etc.

I bought a Spec 3 clutch/pp for the install.
