photochop or reality??

I have to say it is real. I base that entirely on the fact that if I were going to photo-chop a new vette I would have eliminated the completely gay body-colored headlights. Only an official GM picture would have kept those.

Given a picture of a C6 of that color, with those wheels, I think I could recreate that image with about 2 to 3 hours of work.
It's a very accurate representation of the final car. Especially given the camo'd spy pics shown on th gm insider news forum.

More info...

Edit:
I've gained some interest in determining if this is real or not... here's an analysis between the actual spy photo and the picture in quiestion.
http://img112.exs.cx/img112/3259/dig...s_analysis.jpg
Also, pay close attention to the area directly behind the front lip of the fender. The wheel is blacked out in some locations. (typical of a shopped set of wheels)
Another possiblity is that the black bumper skirt could extend around the front of the car and into the fender.
There are good arguements either way... regardless I'm not to impressed with the overall look of the car.

They used titanium rods because with a 4" stroke spinning at 7k rpms thats a hell of a lot of inertia. The titanium rods are light and strong. They didn't use forged pistons because they are more prone to knocking on cold starts than cast. Gm is very nervous about knock issues based on their ls1 truck problems. But with an engine with titanium rods, forged crank, and 11:1 cr, your going to have to change the pistons to reduce your cr for boost And you already have a stout bottom end from GM. Not so good for you Nitros guy :-(

And with the apparent hysteria from GM about this pic and data being posted I suspect both it and the data is exactly correct. I imagine that the picture will appear in many magazines in their Feb dated issue (as long as that issue is not available prior to Jan 15th.)

Either way, with only 500hp this engine would appear to have some serious potential with only minor upgrades (thinking even just cam, exhaust, tuning or something to that effect) - especially if the rumors are true on how well the LS7 heads flow.

This appears to be some pretty reliable information (except for the C5R block reference):
