06 z06 vs fords gt-40

06 z06 vs fords gt Which is faster do you think? Do you think the magazines will put them up against each other? They are already going to do a shootout with the z06 and the twin turbo porsche. I think the z06 is going to be a better car for less than half the money of the ford what does everyone think?

according to the magzine's (i know, i know....) the Z06 ran an 11.7 and the GT40 runs somewhere around 12.2 Honestly i really dont ******* know about cornering but corvettes have been known to kick serious *** and the with the new Z06, its only getting better. ***Those are just time i saw when i ran through the magazine at the grocery store. The gt40 has a supercharged 5.3 i think. Im gonna go give it to the new Z06. Hands down. As far as interior quality(which i dont give a **** about) their prolly gonna be bitching at the Z06 interior while they admire the interior of the $150,000 Gt-40. I cant wait to see. Im sure Z06 will have the power to take on the GT40 no problem.

z06 hands down. while i am very highly impressed with the ford GT, i think that a 12.2 with ONLY 550 bhp is kinda down there. the lamborghini gallardo ran faster that with 500. so i figure the z06 will beat both of them and get into the F430 range of an 11.7. But mostly I think it will depend on the driver. I don't think the magazines really have anyone that is competent driving a car that fast. A car thats capable of running 11.7's can easily go 12.5's with the wrong driver (but you all know that).

Can we compare current cars, the GT40 is old as hell. . . How about more along the lines of the new Ford over priced supercar, the Ford GT vs the new Z06. . . 
Z06 will absolutely demolish the Ford GT and Viper. . . Mark my words. . .

The GT is obviously underrated even at 550 bhp (the early ones were rated at only 500hp IIRC 
). This is an old discussion, though. IMO, the GT is the "better" car and if there are comparisons in mags, I certainly wouldn't bet against it. Now, with that said, the C6 ZO6 will likely be quite close statistically and at less than half the MSRP will be a no-brainer if you're focused on performance (which is really the only thing I give a **** about, personally). Of course, exclusivity is another issue (apparently an important one, too, if you listen to the average Viper/Porsche buyer

Another thing to add is that the Z06 is much lighter than the GT, which weighs 3,485. But I would rather have the GT because I could sell it and get a couple of Z06's with pocket change. Or buy one Z06, put a 300 shot of nitrous on it to destroy everything you will ever come across and buy a new house with the rest of the money.

Stock VS Stock the GT is going to be faster than the LS7 Z06. The Z06 trapped 127mph while the GT did trap 130mph. The GT is really underrated since it did put down 556rwhp stock. Im sure the Z06 will still kick the GT butt around a road course, but not in a drag race stock vs stock. Although if i had the choice between the two and keep the difference i would go with a Z06 in a heart beat. The extra money could help in Low C/R pistons, fuel system and Twin T70-T76 turbos
