I'm very interested in your results, and planning to build/buy a 402 LS2 as soon as vendors have 'tested' the configuration....with SLP and Agostino's iron-block 402's doing 580 and 590 hp, it should be interesting!

Ok, so, with the future in mind, and knowing that the stock bore on the LS2 is 4.00, what is the max safe bore in these? If you were going to run a turbo application, what would rather have, more stroke or more bore to make the cubes?

sb427- I'd go with more stroke, and here's why... larger bores are inherently less efficient than smaller bores; there can be issues with the flame front making it to the edges of the pistons before the piston drops too far away from the head. The main reason that opening up the bore on an NA motor is so effective is because it unshrouds the valves... however, in a turbo motor, flow through the (intake) valve is already handled by the positive manifold pressure above it (note: I am not saying that head design on an FI motor doesn't matter, just that valve shrouding isn't nearly the issue that it is on NA motors).

Cool, thanks BurnOut, so, if I understand that right, you'd rather see a square motor or one that's stroked out of square?
