Default New LS2 DRY Sleeve Blocks!

Hey everyone, I am excited to announce that we are now able to offer LS2 DRY sleeve blocks. These are based on a Darton (not MID) sleeve. There is no risk of leaking sleeves due to O-Ring failure (MID) and best of all, we can safely do a 4.155" bore.

I am selling the sleeved blocks outright bored and finish honed at $3395.00 plus shipping.

We can also build a full crate engine or short block to meet your needs. Call or e-mail me for a quote.

Just imagine:
4.155" Bore x 4.125" Stoke = 447CI!

I hope to have pics up soon on the blocks.

One of these just might be finding it's way into a red 9 second Trans-am

Mikey

MID sleeves are not necessary on the LS2.

Nice....expensive though, but gets me thinking...hmmm. What do you think the average power would be out a big Ci like that? Mid 6 hundreds?

I can't really discuss the details of how we are doing this. A dry sleeve is a better solution since the sleeve does not come in direct contact with coolant eliminating any possibilty of coolant leaking into the oil due to sleeve movement or rubber seal failure. These blocks are guaranteed against sleeves dropping or leaking.

The price is comparable to an MID block. These are a little more because there is no core charge. We use new GM LS2 blocks.

Yes, with the head technologies coming up to speed, 600+ rwhp should be easily attainable. I will be the first to let you know

Is the LS2 less likely to drop a dry sleeve than a LS1 dry sleeve? if so why?

Price isn't bad when you consider the block is included.

Why wouldn't you be able to take a customer's LS1 block as a core to re-sleeve?

Mike, will the LS7 block be able to handle a bigger finish bore on the sleeve than a LS2.I would imagine no but just curious,Also whats the difference between dry sleeving a LS1 (sleeves can drop) and a LS2 based block?

I agree with u on the coolant not touching the sleeves as I've always believed this was a better way of doing it,hence the C5R block.I dont like the specail coolants/water pumps and 0 psi BS thats suggested by Darton on the Wet sleeve,I've used that evans coolant and I wont give u my opinion of it but lets just say I didnt lke it.

This sounds very promising....

Well we can but the sleeves will sit in the coolant. LS2 block is a little different.

I don't know yet on the LS7 stuff. I can't comment on other dry sleeved LS1 blocks but I know personally, I have done quite a few ARE re-sleeved blocks and have never dropped a sleeve. The way that this and the ARE LS1 sleeves are installed, it's almost impossible to drop one.

You remember "Pogo"? He did an ARE 422CI 4 years ago and the car is still running strong. No issues.

Some of the higher HP LS1 re-sleeved engines had some coolant leakage issues at the base of the sleeve and only because the sleeve gets wet. I got 3 years out of my present block before I started to see some leaking and I was able to seal it back up with Bars Leak. This is a non-issue on the LS2.

Is there a weight difference between a dry sleeved block and a stock one?
