When will LS7 heads be available?

Big-DEN- Accel used to make an intake like you're describing for the SBC called the Super Ram or something (was used with a TPI-style base):

Inside that plenum/box is a runner/air horn for each cylinder. I don't really know how well they worked, but they had some LONG runners (probably every bit of 13-15 inches)... the heads of the day didn't really flow that well, so something making big torque below 5500 or so RPM was the way to go.

That's where knowing people who can fab and own a fab shop come in handy. I don't diagree with your statement, you just have to have access to the tools and or someone with the tools and the skills.
The new heads and block will not have a C5R price tag with it.The new heads and block will not have the C5R name with it either. The fact that it is going into MASS production will bring the price with in reason.I'm saving now and next years hole tax return is going towards my project along with a workmans comp hearing settlement. My goal is to be between 550-600 rwhp on pump gas.
hopefully gm will be making enough head and block castings so the price will be somewhat reasonable. These heads are going to be great for 4 inch and larger bores. If AFR can produce small quantities of specialty heads for 2500 I am sure gm can also...just wonder if they will sell that cheap. If we can just get the bare castings we can put them together with aftermarket parts and have awesome heads.
