Actually, a C6 Vette. I could build one faster for less money than a Z06, I'm not afraid to tear into a new engine, unlike 99% of Vette owners. haha

While that is true, why build upon something AMAZING till you feel its NOWHERE near the power level it should be. 427 ci vs 364 ci

No replacement for displacement, and I dont kno bout anyone else but i personally like the way the stock vettes sound especially at idle, nice sweet rumble, and that lil whine up top. I wouldnt do more then all the bolton's and at the VERY most twin turbo it.

Most Z06 owners will keep their cars bone stock unfortunately. A 427ci engine that is only rated at 500hp doesn't really impress me. Hopefully GM severely underrated them and they make at least 500 at the wheels. My heads/cam 346ci SS is approx 490hp itself. The 434ci LS6 I had in my previous Formula made 625hp.

For the C6, I'd probably do heads/cam/turbo. Easily 600+ rwhp (700 crank)

While that is true, I still would be afraid of changing the sound that the stock cam lets off in the more recent Vettes expecially at idle where you dont hear it much but at WOT its screaming. I'm sure the LS7 jsut needs to breathe a lil bit better and itll be good to go, its got a great cam, excellent heads...throw on the intake and exhaust im sure itll do well w/ other bolt ons and a tune as well

There is no doubt that the LS7 will kick the crap out of most engines once modified (hell, even stock), but there will be very few modified ones out there. Most buyers I know plan to leave them stock and/or store them away as collectibles.

Supposedly the Z06 will have flaps inside the mufflers that bypass them at WOT. It will be impressive for sure

I thought the ls7 was going to dyno about 500 to the actual wheels not just engine dyno numbers. Hell its a 427 with ported heads and a somewhat decent cam its bound to be somewhat stout if not at 500 I bet just below in the 470 480 range.

Wish they'd expand the use of !MAF back to the production line. as long as they have an accurate sensor for atmospheric pressure tuning would be a breeze.

And yeah I don't understand the concept of storing a car to let it rot especially a performance car. Hell if I could own one I'd buy a Mclaren F1/Enzo/Mercedes SLR and I'd drive it all the time (doubtful in the rain but still), and yes they would see the track... often...

its definitely going to have an interesting sound at WOT. and personally, i think the ls7 has a pretty weak cam for a 427, its designed solely to pass emissions. throw a loper in there and you'll really wake her up.

i only wonder how much the heads are going to go for, and what if any work will be able to be done on them aftermarket? like kyle said, only time now.

I know that If I did find a way to swing the new Z06, I would bolt the 100 shot on my car onto my new Z06 before I got off the dealer's lot.
