Set two cam sensor codes, and now spins over like no compression. It had began to hickup about 5000/5200 rpm on previous pulls, and went very rich right there, then cleaned back up. I thought I had a tuning issue, since I had made some large tuning changes for the last three or four pulls. I have seen three of four LS6 cars in the past couple of years that had the cam bolt back out, causing a drivability issue & cam sensor codes. Now I realize I should have scaned the cam sensor when this began to happen. This car likely has some, or maybe several, bent valves since this happened at that rpm. This car had never been past the fastory 6600 rev limiters. If you have a car develop this symptom, check the cam sensor data with a Tech2, it should be on the first engine data menu.

This LS2 is a neat engine, great torque. This Vette, with a very conservative tuneup and just under 6 psi boost using an ATI Procharger & 42lb injectors, was making an easy 510 hp at the wheels. Think my old TA could use one of these.

Just wanted to give you guys that might own one of these cars something to watch out for, and maybe how to diagnose the problem if it crops up.

Good luck, Ed

There is a known issue with the harmonics of a procharger and cam gear bolts backing out. The stock bolts have no loctite that i've seen.

Personally I would use arp bolts, drill the heads of the bolts .035, and daisy chain safety wire them.
