Ok, afer a strong friday night (heavy hang over) the SLP-LS402 shortblock is in the vette. Tomorrow brings the heads and acc. no major probs except on the passenger side, the LS2 block has an extended mounting hole by the bottom forward engine mount bolt, after gringing that down, it fit together. Also, to fit the pan on the block and windage tray you have to space the tray away from the crank for clearance which pushes the oil pump pick up down to the pan, so you need to push that back up to make clearance oil pick up work. And the oil temp sensor shroud in th oil pan will now hit the windage trayso you need to flatten the hump in the spacer plate that bolts to the inside of the pan. etc, etc, etc all in all, not a bad swap. I'll have more details tomorrow.
